Is it possible to increase our life expectancy?

Many countries have a bet. term life expectancy than countries in Asia. It is certainly possible to live longer by adjusting our daily routine and our habits.

Do regular health Do checkups help?

Besides routine clinical examination by your doctor, checkup for diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol levels is important. After the age of forty. this is recommended annually. Those who have a family history of breast, uterine or ovarian cancer can have their examination done much earlier. Individuals with a family history of premature deaths due to cancer, hypertension or complication due to diabetes should be extra careful. Mammogram. Pap smears and colonoscopies are suggested wherever necessary

What about certain addictions and early deaths?
Avoiding smoking, tobacco and excess alcohol is dangerous and can reduce your life expectancy remarkably. Consumption of excess of saturated fats. salt and sugar can lead to many diseases and thus reduce your life expectancy

What about stress, psychological factors and depression?

One should always have a positive and reconciliation approach in life. This reduces stress and depression. Progress in life is always good, but do not raise the bar too high. Stress and chronic anxiety are known to cause hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. Excessive stress can lead to smoking and alcoholism that fur

What about diet and life expectancy?

Be a vegetarian to increase your life expectancy. A vegetarian diet is high in antioxidants and low in saturated fats. The diet should be rich in vegetables and fruits. There should be less of pizzas and ice creams. Fried food should
be reduced to the bare minimum.

What about watching television and life expectancy?

Watching TV makes you inactive and you burn very few calories. You tend to eat more junk food and those who eat while watching TV tend to eat more. Watching TV in excess makes you less social. Some stories and news on TV can increase your stress. On average we watch TV for 1000 hours every year. Instead of talking to your children, parents or friends and doing some volunteering may be more worthwhile.

Does avoiding risks increases your life expectancy?

The most common causes of death for young people are accidents, injuries and violence. Wear your seat belt, wear your helmets, drive defensively, avoid risky sex, avoid violent situations, do not smoke and maintain a healthy weight.

What about going out and exercising?

This is one of the best ways to increase your life expectancy. Exposure to sunlight triggers cells in your skin to produce Vitamin D. This helps for your bone health and is important to reduce diabetes, depression and heart diseases. Almost 50% of adults have low vitamin D levels. The most effective and cheap
best way to get vitamin D is to walk or exercise early morning in the sunshine.

What about exercises and your life expectancy?

A study showed that people who exercise vigorously for around 3 hours a week had DNA and cells that were 9 years younger than nonexercisers. Three hours a week is a little more than 30 minutes a day.

The strategy to increase life expectancy can begin right from early childhood. Regular exercises, a well balanced vegetarian a diet, avoiding excess alcohol and tobacco prod.ucts and an overall positive attitude helps. Why not change our lifestyle today?
