The pancreas produces hormones that help us for digestion and regulation of our blood glucose. Pancreatitis can occur as acute pancreatitis, meaning appearing suddenly and remaining for a few days or as chronic pancreatitis that may remain for many years. Mild cases may remain to improve without treatment, but severe cases may cause life-threatening complications.
